"Of all the paths you take in life, make sure a few of them are dirt."
~ John Muir
This year I am celebrating my 65th year of life. One doesn't usually get to this stage without a few physical reminders of an aging body no matter how well we take care of ourselves. It makes the idea of "if not now...when?" come front and center. As long as I can remember I have wanted to pursue hiking. But between being a full-time single parent for many years, caring for my mom the past 15 years, and my many other business and personal endeavors, I just haven't had the time or energy to actually do it.
Last year, I finally joined a local hiking group and then promptly fell and badly injured my ankle and foot which took me completely out of the hiking mode for several months. Not to be deterred, I have signed up to do a women's 5 day hiking trip in the high Sierras of Yosemite this August as a birthday gift to myself. Since I am still recovering from my injury, I have a long way to go before I will be ready for not only the 5-6 miles a day we'll be hiking, but the elevation change as well. No doubt this will be a life-changing trip on many levels, and I am REALLY looking forward to it!
After over 5 years of leading the Nutritional E-Cleanse Program 4 times a year, I have decided to take a break after the Spring program in April. For whatever reason, the sign-ups have been declining - with summer being the lowest of all. SO, I intend to spend the summer focusing on training to get ready for my trip, and then I'll re-group and see how I feel and where things are in the fall.
Please note that I will continue seeing both massage and nutrition clients privately, but will be taking a break from researching and writing blogs, posting on social media, the healthy eating support group, and facilitating the Nutritional E-Cleanse Program.
I'm writing this for two reasons. First, I didn't just want to just disappear and have you think something bad has happened. And, secondly, since this MAY be the last e-cleanse program (at least for awhile), you might want to consider joining the Spring program that's starting on April 5th. As always, I have been busy learning new things and collecting new recipes, and am very excited to bring them to the Spring program.
And, if not, then I thank you for your interest and participation in the past, and wish you many blessings in the future.
Happy, Healthy Living!
